Anurag Jain, Founder and Chairman of the Board, Laurus Edutech

Anurag Jain

Anurag Jain is the Founder and Chairman of Laurus Edutech and its subsidiary companies. Laurus Edutech is one of the leading ISO 9001:2008 certified skill development and training companies in India. Laurus Edutech provides services across complete skill cycle like training, certification and assessments support, skill technology, placements and skill infra. Laurus Edutech is one of the leaders in the assessment support space and has helped its clients manage over  students assessed through its platform.

Prior to Laurus Edutech until June of 2011, Anurag Jain was leading the Dell Services Delivery unit, a global team of more than 18,000 professionals who deliver over $3billion of leading edge technology solutions to Dell customers around the world. The Services Delivery unit includes Dell’s technology service functions of Infrastructure and Managed Technology Services, Applications, and Business Process Solutions. The organization also included Dell’s Innovation group, which is pioneering technology advancements in areas such as Cloud Computing, Mobility, Virtual Data Services, Technology Delivery and Optimization, and others.

Anurag previously led the Perot Systems (now Dell) Applications, Business Process Solutions, Financial Services and Insurance organizations, where he directed global operations and sales to enhance growth and business results. He also served as managing director of the company’s Asia Pacific region.

Anurag also previously founded 3 highly successful, large-scale, India-based IT services outsourcing businesses. He co-founded and served as head of operations for Brigade Corporation, a customer support company with employees across centers in the U.S., Europe, and India and raised over $150million for the business. He then founded Vision Healthsource, a business focused on providing IT services outsourcing to healthcare providers and payers that was acquired by Perot Systems in 2003. He also co-founded IQ Backoffice a very successful finance and accounting outsourcing company that Ayala backed LIveIt based in Philippines bought in 2011.

Anurag is on the board of the North Texas Food Bank which is a nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods through a network of 1,184 feeding programs in 13 North Texas counties. *Last year, the NTFB provided access to almost 45 million meals through its efforts.

In addition to his business career, Anurag has been a tireless leader and innovative supporter of skill and vocational development in India. He has been Chairman of the Skill Development Forum for the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). He also served on the Board of the National Skills Development Corporation until July 2011, a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership in India.

In addition, Anurag serves on the Board of Asia (Chennai) Engineering, a leading commercial, industrial civil engineering firm in India for the past 40+ years and Anurag also serves as member on the board of Worldhaus, an innovative affordable modular and eco friendly home kit providers.

Anurag holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in electronics and electrical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani, India.

Mahinder Kumar Jain, is a Civil Engineering Graduate from Benares Hindu University, did his Masters in Highway Engineering at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and then went to the US in the early 60’s to do his Masters in Structural Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He returned to India in 1967 and settled in Chennai to establish his construction company – Asia (Chennai) Engineering Pvt Ltd. Having recently completed 40 years, Asia Engineering is amongst India’s leading industrial construction companies and continues to grow year on year.

Mahinder has also founded several other companies including Govel Plastics and Asia Plastics. In the last year he sold his stake in Milton Roy India Pvt Ltd, which was a joint venture with United Technologies (A Fortune 50 Company).At their invitation, Mahinder sat on the board as Director till recently.

Mahinder continues to run Asia Engineering and Govel Plastics today. Mahinder has pioneered the Jain Mahasangh as Past President and continues to mentor the organization.

He is also President of the Jain International Trade Organization – South India chapter and Bharatvarshiya Digambar Jain Tirth Sangrakshni Mahasabha. Through these platforms and as a trustee of various charitable schools he works towards generating scholarships for needy students, creating platforms to integrate professionals and business proprietors from all over the country etc. Mahinder is also an active member of the Rotary club of Madras.

Vardhman Jain

As the Founder Director of Laurus Edutech, Vardhman is responsible for the overall strategy, mentoring and direction to the company being on the board of Directors of Laurus Edutech. He plays a key role in guiding Laurus Edutech’s overall vision, development and management of the board. He brings a wealth of experience in the areas of corporate development, strategic planning, sales & marketing management, executive leadership and managing India-based BPO operations.

Prior to Laurus Edutech, Vardhman was the managing director for Dell Services BPO operations worldwide, where he was responsible for global delivery of business process services to over 100 clients in healthcare, Insurance, financial services and finance & accounting markets.

At Dell, Vardhman played a key role in infusing scalability into the organization’s operations to facilitate a quick ramp-up. His zeal for automation has led to the development of a completely automated business process systems suite, including Knowledge management, workflow management, operational dashboards and other enabling technologies for Employee Relationship Management and team collaboration amongst others.

His work with Dell helped the organization become a leading provider of Healthcare and Insurance BPO solutions and oversaw its growth from less than 100 employees to over 4500 employees worldwide.

Vardhman is recognized as thought leader and is quite often quoted in leading publications including The Economic Times, Times of India, The Hindu, Dataquest, and Deccan Chronicle amongst a host of other publications.

Vardhman holds a B.S. in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin and also holds a B.Sc. in Statistics from Loyola College, India. After completing his education, he worked with Dazel Software (A Hewlett Packard Software Company) in Austin, TX, as a quality assurance engineer.
